EUDR

EU Deforestation Regulation

EUDR compliance software for food & consumer goods supply chains

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires cocoa, coffee, soy, palm oil, cattle, rubber, wood and products made from them to be deforestation-free. From 30 December 2026, suppliers must prove declare that in a due diligence statement (DDS), and buyers must keep its reference number on record for five years. Simvia helps you collect, link and store all your documents & DDS in one place.

Most EUDR tools are built for a job you may not have

Under the simplified EUDR (2025), due diligence sits with the operator who first places a product on the market. If you buy from that operator, your role is much narrower than before.

First Downstream Operators:

No need to redo your supplier’s due diligence or create a DDS

Collect each DDS reference number for all relevant products

Keep every reference linked to the right product and supplier for 5 years.

Why EUDR compliance is more challenging than it looks

Reference numbers arrive scattered

DDS references come in by email, on invoices and in PDFs, if they come at all.

Requests can come at any time

Authorities and customers can ask for your DDS references months after a delivery. You need to find the right one without digging through old inboxes.

ERPs weren’t built for this

Many systems have no reliable field for storing and linking DDS references per product and supplier.

Map your EUDR-relevant supply chain

Tag the products and suppliers that fall under EUDR and map how they connect. You see right away where a DDS reference number is needed and where one is still missing.

Tag EUDR-relevant products and suppliers

See how products and suppliers connect

Spot where a DDS reference is needed

Flag references that are still missing

Rule-based DDS requests

Set rules for which suppliers should send which statements, and Simvia asks the right supplier for the right statement when you need it.

Set rules once based on EUDR-compliance

The right supplier always gets asked for the right reference

Suppliers share proactively reducing the need for manual effort

Audit-ready records for five years and beyond

Simvia stores every TRACES reference, linked to its product and supplier for whenever an authority or a customer asks.

Records are kept for as long as you need them

Who is responsible for EUDR compliance?

Operators who first place a product on the EU market, or export it, carry out due diligence and submit a due diligence statement (DDS) in TRACES. Downstream operators and traders of all sizes must keep records of their suppliers and customers for at least five years. The first downstream operator or trader also has to collect the DDS reference numbers or declaration identifiers from its suppliers.

When does EUDR apply?

From 30 December 2026. Micro and small operators established by 31 December 2024 have until 30 June 2027. Products added to the scope in 2026 follow from 30 December 2027.

Do I need a full end-to-end EUDR solution?

Not necessarily. If you buy from an operator who has already submitted a DDS, you don’t need to redo their due diligence. What you do need is a reliable way to collect, link and keep their reference numbers. Simvia is built for that job.

How does Simvia help with EUDR?

Simvia helps you tag EUDR-relevant products and suppliers, send rule-based DDS requests, and collect references through the Supplier Portal. It also stores everything as audit-ready records for at least five years, with Excel export.
